Ageing positively is an interesting idea and something we all wish for our family, our friends, and naturally, ourselves. It’s a special part of our brand story that’s been practised by our organisation from the very beginning. No matter our role, Positive Ageing continues to shape and inspire everything we do today.

Who we are today

Early history

Bolton Clarke was formed when two trusted providers – RSL Care in Queensland and RDNS (Royal District Nursing Service) in Victoria – came together.

Recent growth

Our organisation has continued to grow after joining forces with other experienced providers including, most recently, Acacia Living Group, Allity and McKenzie Aged Care Group.

Our name

Our name honours two community leaders – Brigadier William Kinsey Bolton, who founded the forerunner of the RSL, and Lady Janet Clarke, president of the Melbourne District Nursing Society.

Not-for-profit

We are a not-for-profit organisation which means we work for our residents, clients and their families. Any surplus is reinvested to improve our services, programs and communities.

Connected services

We are among only 3% of aged care providers offering a full continuum of connected care and living options, so our customers will always have access to ongoing support.

Our expertise

A team of dedicated Senior Clinical Nurse Advisors support our frontline staff. They specialise in areas of high needs care, including dementia, diabetes management, palliative care and more.

We're independent

We’re Australia’s largest independent not-for-profit aged care provider. We are not associated with any religious organisation or charity.

Our research

Our Research Institute works closely with our clients, residents and their families to co-design research programs, implement findings and develop practices that enhance the health and happiness of older people.

Our training

Altura Learning, part of Bolton Clarke Group, provides our teams with specialised education and training and equips them with the up-to-date information they need to deliver high quality care.

We’re moving to a

Single Brand

in 2024

As we continue to grow and evolve as a team, we are updating our brand to reflect our shared story, potential and purpose. Stay tuned for an exciting change, coming soon.
